Centurion - your German e-bike
Centurion 's story began in 1976 in Magstadt, Baden-Württemberg, when cyclocross rider Wolfgang Renner founded his company with a clear vision: to create bicycles that convey pure joy of pedaling. Renner initially imported and marketed bicycles from Japan, but in 1991 he decided to permanently acquire the rights to the Centurion brand, thus consolidating ownership of the brand he had helped develop in the European market.
The pioneer of mountain biking
Wolfgang Renner is not just an entrepreneur, but a true cycling revolutionary. In 1982, when Europe was not yet familiar with mountain bikes, he had the courage to create the first German MTB: the legendary Centurion Country. As a true explorer, Renner himself used his bikes for extreme trips to the ends of the world, proving in the field the robustness and reliability of his products. In 2017, this pioneering spirit was recognized with induction into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame.
German philosophy and quality
Centurion 's philosophy remains unchanged since its founding: "a bicycle cannot give joy to its owner unless it is developed, built and sold with that same joy." This passion now translates into bicycles assembled in Germany according to renowned German precision, also benefiting from the technological collaboration with the Merida Group for continuous product evolution.
For more than four decades, Centurion has helped write the history of European mountain biking, from importing the first American BMX bikes to organizing the first alpine races. Each bike is born from in-house design and engineering, following quality standards that make each model synonymous with simple and reliable operation.
